Step by step guides to the app
Getting ready for your first trip away? Or chasing something you saw in a post? These guides walk you through it. Each one shows how one part of the app works, step by step. They use the exact buttons you see on screen.
- A quiet heads-up when you're over the limitSpeed Limit Alert tells you once when you go well over the limit. You pick how much over counts, from 5 to 20 km/h.
- Plan your own route, stop by stopPick a start, add each stop in order, and the app plans the roads between them. Type the places, or tap them on the map.
- Tell it your trip, get a routeType your trip in plain words. Plan with AI finds routes, draws the one you pick, and finds places to stay.
- Keep the map with no signalDownload the Australia pack before you go. Then the map, route planning and turn by turn work with no signal.
- Turn your route into a day-by-day planPlan a trip with several stops and Motocamp makes a plan for each day. You get a PDF with maps, fuel, weather and places to stay.
- Find a place to stop for the nightTurn on the camping pins and tap one. Check the cost, the facilities, the road in and the weather before you go.
- See what your trip costs in fuelTell Motocamp what your vehicle uses. Every route then shows the fuel it needs and what it costs at the pumps on the way.
- Book your bed straight with the ownerTap a motel, guesthouse or cabin in Motocamp. Book direct opens the place's own website. That way the owner keeps more of what you pay.
- See the weather on your tripSee the rain on the map and check the wind. Then see the weather at each stop on your route.
- Find great food stops on your wayTurn on Iconic Food Stops to see 36 great places to eat across Australia. Each one shows the road it is on.
- Put a missing place on the mapFound a camp, dump point or water tap that isn't on the map? Press and hold the spot, and add it for everyone to see.
- Plan and drive with 3D mapsTurn the map to 3D, tilt it and turn it, and make the hills taller. Then plan your route and follow it in 3D.
- Find campsites that take your dogTap Dogs OK, and the map fades every campsite that hasn't said yes to dogs. Then you can plan stops your dog can come to.
- See bushfires on your mapSee bushfires on your map. NASA satellites spot the heat. You also see NSW Rural Fire Service fires and fires we have marked.
- Choose the kind of road you wantFour switches change the roads your route takes. They are Prefer Unsealed Roads, Prefer Twisty Roads, Avoid Highways and Avoid Toll Roads.
- Keep your rig clear of low bridgesTell the app your rig and its height. The route then keeps off roads your rig is too tall, too wide or too long for.
- Gentler roads when you're towingTell the app you're towing a caravan or driving a motorhome. It plans main roads with gentler hills and fewer sharp bends.
- Find the rough tracks on an enduro bikePick Enduro and your route looks for rough forest tracks first, with tar only to link them. Hardest Tracks goes further.
- Closed roads, checked for your trip daySet the day you leave. The app checks road closures for that day and your vehicle. It goes around them or asks you.
- See fuel prices before you fill upTap a servo on the map to see what each fuel costs. Prices come from NSW, the ACT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC and WA.
